Nixon said her trans son, Seph Mozes, is advocating for Jewish Voices for Peace, which calls itself a Jewish anti-Zionist group “standing in solidarity with Palestine,” the outlet reported. The actress announced that Mozes, born Samantha Mozes, was trans back in 2018, according to People. Mozes is an alum of the University of Chicago.
“He and five other of his compatriots are doing a hunger strike in Chicago [since] Monday, for Gaza,” Nixon said. She told the outlet their motto is, “‘Stop starving Gaza, stop arming Israel.’”
“[He] doesn’t have illusions that he’s going to end the war, but I think he wants to do everything he can,” she said.
Nixon, most famous for her role as Miranda Hobbes in “Sex and the City,” said Mozes’ paternal grandparents survived the Holocaust, which partially inspired the 28-year old to show support for the cause.
Eman Abdelhadi, an assistant professor at the University of Chicago, said the hunger strike began Monday and would continue indefinitely. Local reporting substantiated his claim, Newsweek reported.
